Surrounded by farmers

The original butt massage pic, lost
but now found
This week was one of the best weeks on the mission! The first half of the week was with Elder Thayer in his area of Volshky. He is awesome! It was a lot of fun and we really tried to focus on natural conversation on the streets. Our mission has fallen into the habit of starting the conversation the same way each time we talk to someone on the street, and we have decided that isn't the way it is supposed to be.

Elder Shonefield!
One funny thing we did this week with a few people is ask whose tie they like better, mine or his? It was really fun. We got some great responses and it lead to some really good conversations. So far, my record is one tie and one win. For the tie with the ties, I have to say I wasn't wearing one of my own. haha

Then later this week I got my new companion, Elder Shonefield! He is great! He is from Missouri and he is a farmer, so he has a bunch of farmer stories that are pretty funny. He used to play baseball and was going to play college, but then he messed up his elbow and couldn't pitch his senior year. He says this was probably a good thing because now he is on his mission!

With all that,  I haven't spent a lot of time in my area so there is not much to talk about this week! One highlight is of Brother  Sergei whipping out some brass knuckles during the skit we are doing for the talent show! haha It was pretty funny. We'll do the skit later this week, brass knuckles and all. It will be fun. Brother Sergei "sings" in it. haha

Well, I love you all! Have a great week.
